Purpose

This Privacy Policy explains how AcceleratED may collect and use Personal Information that we obtain through your use of the AcceleratED website accessible at www.joinaccelerated.com (the “Site”); social media pages or handles; AcceleratED’s online and offline, courses, workshops, and events; our instructional products that are delivered through a variety of modalities, both in-person and online. This Privacy Policy also provides you with notice about how and why your Personal Information will be used and the rights you have to access and control the use of your Personal Information. This Privacy Policy is designed to help you (the ‘User’) understand how www.joinaccelerated.com collects information about you when you visit the Site and how it uses and discloses that information. This Privacy Policy applies to data that personally identifies you (“personal information”) that is collected on this Site.

Categories of personal information

We collect the following categories of Personal Information:

Identity Data: Information we use to identify you, authenticate you as an authorized user of the Site, communicate with you, and record any transactions you make. This includes your name, title, date of birth and gender. Identity data may also include your image if you participate in a course, class, workshop, or event that is recorded and you appear in the recording, or if you provide us with a picture of yourself and consent to our use of your picture on our Site.

Contact Data: Includes billing address, postal address, email address, telephone number, and mobile phone number.

Technical Data: Includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our Site.

Usage Data: Includes information about how you use the Site. 

Transaction Data: Includes details of the Services for which you have previously registered and/or in which you have been enrolled.

Profile Data: Includes, if applicable and, in most cases, only when you choose to provide such information to us as part of the Services, your interests; preferences; social media account(s); demographic information, including but not limited to age, gender, race; education level; resume information; professional portfolio link; economic information or employment status; and feedback and survey responses.  Profile Data may also include information that you provide to us voluntarily throughout your journey at AcceleratED.

Marketing and Communications Data: Includes your preferences with respect to receiving marketing from us and/or our third-party partners and your communication preferences.

De-identified data: We also collect, use, and share de-identified data such as statistical or demographic data for various purposes. We may use this type of data to analyze trends with respect to skills, jobs, employment, and the workforce generally; to administer, analyze, and improve the content and functionality of the Site; for marketing; and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We utilize unstructured machine learning technologies to understand user behaviors and to provide user-specific recommendations and other personalization of the Site or Services experience.

If we combine or connect de-identified data with your Personal Information in such a way that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as Personal Information and only use it in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to use de-identified data for any purpose, including, but not limited to, those set forth above. We may also disclose such data to our Enterprise clients, partners or third-party service providers, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy.

How AcceleratED collects information

We collect information from you directly, from the devices you use to interact with us, and from third parties. We may combine information from the Site, Platform, and Services together and with our business records. We may use and share information that we de-identify at our discretion.

We collect your Personal Information when you:

  • Create an account on the Site or register to use the Services;
  • Register or apply for a Course, Class, Workshop, or any other Services on the Site, through any of the Services or via a third-party website;
  • Participate in our surveys, promotions, and competitions;
  • Interact with us on various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
  • Post information to the Site or Services that includes Personal Information, for example, by posting in a chat room or on a blog post;
  • Communicate with us, for example, by submitting queries regarding the Site or the Services, interacting with our customer support, marketing, or sales teams, or requesting additional information from us, including newsletters or other marketing materials; and
  • Sign up, in person or online, for events or programs run by us or by the third-party organizations with which we partner.
  • Submit information to inquire about or apply for a job with us.

 

As you interact with our Site and/or Services, we also collect technical data such as usage statistics about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns. We collect this information by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technology. See below for more information on our use of cookies.

We may also receive Personal Information about you from various third parties and public sources.

Similar to other commercial websites, the Site utilizes standard technology called “cookies” and Web server logs to collect information about how the Site is used. Cookies are a feature of Web browser software that allows Web servers to recognize the computer used to access a Web site. Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored by a user’s Web browser on the user’s hard drive. Google Analytics (Google Inc.)

Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of our website and other online properties, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. Google may use the Data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. Personal Data collected: Cookies and Usage data Google Tag Manager (Google Inc.) How Do We Use The Information We Collect?

We use your personally identifiable information to provide you with the information or content that you have requested, and, in some cases, to contact you about our programs. If you no longer wish to receive press releases or any other type of information from us, you may send us an email through our “Contact Us” link or use email us to change your preferences; or follow the “unsubscribe” link provided in the e-mail that you receive.

We use non-identifying information collected on the Site in the aggregate to better understand your use of the Site and to enhance your enjoyment and experience. For example, we may use the information to improve the design and content of the Site or to analyze the programs and services that we offer.

We may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Our employees, agents and contractors who have access to personally identifiable information are required to protect the information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Statement.

We may provide access to your personally identifiable information when legally required to do so, to cooperate with police investigations or other legal proceedings, to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Site, to limit our legal liability and protect our rights, or to protect the rights and safety of visitors to the Site or the public. In those instances, the information is provided only for that limited purpose.

We will not share your personally identifiable information in ways unrelated to those described above without providing you with an opportunity to opt out of such use or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

How Do You Access and/or Modify Your Information or Choices?

If you visit the Site and volunteer personally identifiable information, you may modify, update or delete such information or update your preferences regarding what information you want to receive from us, or by clicking on the “Contact Us” link and sending us an e-mail. You should be aware, however, that it is not always possible to immediately or completely remove or modify information in our databases.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to maintain the security of the personally identifiable information that we collect. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us, so you do so at your own risk.

Use of the Site by Children

Our Site is not specifically targeted to children, we do not actively solicit information from children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without proper parental consent.
